Who We Are

COMMUNITY & INDIGENOUS ENGAGEMENT

With over 40 years of experience, the Rusca Group has established a strong track record of partnering with Indigenous communities and organisations across the territory.

Community Relations: At the heart of the Rusca Group’s ethos lies a commitment to our clients, people, and communities. We prioritise engagement with local community groups to foster strong relationships, enabling us to successfully deliver projects on time and within budget. By collaborating closely with community groups and government bodies, we ensure that the assets we deliver meet the expectations of all stakeholders. Recognising that our employees are our greatest asset, we actively work to provide maximum opportunities for local Indigenous people to participate in economic development activities within our organisation and their respective regions. Through effective two-way communication, consultation, training opportunities, and partnerships, we strive to make sustainable improvements for Indigenous communities.

Indigenous Engagement: The Rusca Bros Indigenous Employment Strategy is centred on setting our employees up for success and creating economic opportunities for Indigenous Australians. This philosophy is ingrained in our business practices. We understand that successful implementation requires strong relationships and an understanding of our employees’ backgrounds and potential employment barriers. With Indigenous ownership at the core of Rusca Bros, there exists a deep cultural understanding of communication and mentoring pathways necessary to support Indigenous employment. To enhance this understanding within our organisation, we have recently provided Cross Cultural Awareness training for all senior and administrative staff, with plans to extend this training to all project teams. Through one-on-one mentoring, the use of Indigenous trainers, and qualified senior staff, we ensure that Indigenous employees receive the support they need to thrive. As part of our commitment to social responsibility, we have joined Australia’s ‘White Ribbon’ campaign to stop violence against women. With a workplace population predominantly comprised of males and Indigenous individuals, we recognise our unique position to raise awareness and provide support for this important cause.
